FAQ

Hydraulic Components questions.

Hydraulic cylinder bores typically require: diameter tolerance ±0.025 mm (H7 class), surface finish Ra 0.4 µm, crosshatch pattern 30-45° for seal lubrication retention. Production workflow: precision bore (CNC) → rough hone → finish hone with crosshatch. The crosshatch pattern is critical — it retains hydraulic fluid film for consistent seal performance.
Standard hydraulic testing: 1.5× working pressure for 5 minutes (industrial), 2× working pressure for aerospace. Our pressure testing: hydraulic pump to 500 bar, helium leak detection for critical applications. Test documentation provided with parts. For aerospace hydraulic components, witnessed pressure testing with customer or third-party inspection available.
SAE J1926 straight thread O-ring ports (UNF thread + O-ring seal) standard on hydraulic manifolds. Metric ISO 6149 ports available. Critical dimensions: thread, O-ring seat (controlled diameter and depth), spotface for fitting bottom. Typical tolerance ±0.05 mm on all features. Our manifolds test-fitted with production fittings before shipment.
Long hydraulic cylinders (1-2m) require deep hole drilling — straight holes impossible with conventional twist drills. Gun drilling produces ±0.1 mm straightness per 100 mm of depth. For longer cylinders, BTA drilling for larger diameters. Post-drilling honing brings bore to final finish and tolerance.
Hard chrome plating on hydraulic rods: 25-50 µm thick, hardness 60+ HRC, Ra 0.2 µm finish. Chrome provides wear resistance against seals and corrosion resistance. Our rod production: CNC turning + induction hardening (for 4140 rod) + grinding + chrome plating + final polish. Chrome thickness documented per order.
NACE MR0175 compliance for sour-service (H2S) hydraulic components: specific material selection (316L, Monel, Inconel), hardness control (typically <22 HRC on flow-wetted surfaces), no cadmium or zinc plating. Full material certification and hardness testing documentation. For oil & gas customers, standard capability with documented compliance.
